| Credit limit sanctioned to Central Coop. Banks for financing Seasonal Agricultural Operations |
| During the year 2003-2004, the NABARD
sanctioned credit limits aggregating Rs.320.83 crores to TNSC Bank
on behalf of 22 DCCBs for financing seasonal agricultural
operations. In addition, TNSC Bank sanctioned an additional
limits of Rs.281.00 crores from its own resources to the DCCBs for
the same purpose. Thus, limits aggregating Rs.601.83 crores
were available to DCCBs for financing SAO. |

| Issue of Short Term Agricultural
Loans by DCCBs |
| The DCCBs issued short term
agricultural loans to the extent of Rs.581.27 crores during the year
2003-2004. |

| Finance to Small Farmers |
| Out of the short-term agricultural
loans of Rs.581.27 crores issued by the DCCBs in 2003-2004, loans
amounting to Rs.341.24 crores were issued to small farmers.
The loans issued to small farmers constituted 58.71% of short-term
agricultural loans issued during the year. |

| Issue of Loans in Cash and Kind |
| Out of the total loans of Rs.581.27
crores issued during the year 2003-2004 by the DCCBs for seasonal
agricultural operations, Rs.157.68 crores were issued in the form of
kind components, viz., seeds, fertilizers and pesticides, which
worked out to 27.13%. |
